  • 7 Brutal Challenges Nigerian Freelancers Face Internationally (how to fix them)

If you’re a Nigerian entrepreneur or freelancer trying to build a global business, you’ve probably felt like the odds are stacked against you. Trust me - I get it. I’ve been in this game for over a decade, and I’ve faced almost every challenge you can think of. From clients doubting me because of where I’m from to struggling with payment gateways that make you question your life choices. But despite all these hurdles, many of us are still standing strong, making waves, and proving that Nigerian businesses deserve a seat at the global table. So, what exactly are the biggest challenges we freelancers face? And more importantly, how can we overcome them? Let’s dive right in. The Real Struggles of Nigerian Freelancers Working with Global Clients Here; 1. The “You’re from Nigeria?” Segregation Let’s be real. Being a Nigerian in the global business space often feels like carrying an invisible label. The moment people realize where you’re from, the vibe changes. Some clients start acting differently, doubting your expertise even when you’re better than half the “gurus” they worship online. But here’s the thing: Your value isn’t defined by your location. The key is to let your work speak louder than their biases. Focus on delivering results so undeniable that they can’t ignore you - even if they try. 2. “Are You a Scammer?” Ah yes, the classic one. The moment you say, “I’m from Nigeria,” some people start looking at you like you just asked for their credit card details. This stereotype is exhausting, but here’s how I handle it: Professional branding:  A solid online presence (LinkedIn, website, testimonials) helps build credibility. Transparency:  I share my work process upfront to build trust. Consistency:  Over time, consistent results silence the doubts. If they still think you’re a scammer after all that? Their loss. Move on. 3. Zero to Minimal Press & Visibility You can be the best in your field, but because you’re from Nigeria, you often get overlooked. It’s like the big platforms have a blind spot unless you’re from the US or UK. I’ve seen people with half my experience getting featured on international blogs just because of where they’re based. But here’s the hack: Leverage local wins:  Get featured in Nigerian media and use that as social proof. Network globally:  Join international communities, attend virtual events, and put yourself out there. 4. “Remote Until You’re from Nigeria” You see a job listing: “Remote work opportunity.” You apply, excited. Then you get hit with: “Oh, we prefer candidates from the US or UK.” So… was it really remote? Or “remote within borders”? The way around this? Focus on companies with proven remote culture. Pitch directly to decision-makers instead of HR filters. Create undeniable portfolios that make geography irrelevant. 5. The Dollar-Naira Conversion Rate Struggle The current exchange rate is enough to make anyone cry. Courses, tools, and subscriptions that cost $100 might not seem like much in the US - but that’s over ₦100,000  here! This stops many Nigerians from starting online businesses. But here’s the truth: You can start small. I started my first blog over a decade ago on Blogger - for free. I didn’t wait for big funding. I started with what I had. You don’t need fancy tools to begin. Start now, upgrade later. 6. Poor Payment Gateways This one is personal. For years, I lost clients simply because I couldn’t accept payments via PayPal. Many clients were skeptical when I suggested alternatives. It was frustrating. Thankfully, platforms like Paystack  and Flutterwave  changed the game. But even now, some international clients still hesitate. Here are the top payment gateways Nigerian freelancers and businesses can use: Paystack Flutterwave Wise (formerly TransferWise) Skrill Stripe Atlas (via workaround) Chipper Cash Geegpay Grey.co Barter by Flutterwave WorldRemit (for personal payments) 7. No Funding or Investment Opportunities Unlike startups in the US with access to endless VC funds, Nigerian entrepreneurs often have to bootstrap everything. But here’s the mindset that helped me: “Start where you are, with what you have.” I launched my first blog without a dime - just passion, consistency, and free tools. If you’re waiting for funding to start, you’ll be waiting forever. Build something first, even if it’s small. Investors are more interested in traction than ideas. Final Thoughts: Join My Exclusive WhatsApp Group I know these struggles firsthand because I’ve lived them. That’s why I’ve created an exclusive WhatsApp group  for Nigerian freelancers and aspiring online business owners. • How to Use SEO to Promote Your Nigerian Businesses Globally

Have you ever wondered why some Nigerian businesses are thriving globally while others struggle to break out of their local communities? The answer is simple: visibility.  And one of the most powerful tools to gain that visibility is SEO (Search Engine Optimization). When I started my journey in SEO over a decade ago, I had no idea it would become the tool that could turn small ideas into global sensations. Back then, it was just me, a laptop, and endless curiosity about how the internet worked. Fast forward to today, I’ve helped startups, online stores, agencies, and busy entrepreneurs across industries create SEO content and growth-hack their traffic like pros. One story still gives me goosebumps: A struggling business reached out to me with virtually zero online presence. We put in the work - optimizing their website, creating killer content, and fine-tuning their SEO strategy. Within months, they grew from 0 to over 40,000 organic clicks from Google alone! This isn’t magic - it’s the power of SEO. And guess what? Nigerian businesses can tap into this same power to take their brands from local to global. • Growing Up in Jalingo: My Childhood Stories, Friendships, Adventures, & Resilience

Have you ever wondered how our childhood shapes the people we become? Well, let me take you on a journey back to where it all started for me: the vibrant city of Jalingo, Taraba State. I was born in Jalingo to two wonderful parents who are both proud Jukuns. My dad hails from Dampar village in Ibi Local Government, while my mom is from Wukari Local Government. Together, they built a life for us in the heart of Jalingo, where I spent the most formative years of my life. Life in the Heart of Jalingo Growing up, we lived in a rural area surrounded by warmth, laughter, and a sense of community. My parents worked hard to ensure we were well cared for. We always had food on the table, attended good schools, and lived comfortably, though I often felt a burning desire for more—an inner drive to achieve something greater. My childhood friends were like family to me. There was Ali, my best friend; Miracle; Benjamin; Sunday Job; and Micah Job. Together, we created memories that still bring a smile to my face today. Every day after school at New Era Nursery and Primary School , my older brother, Jerry Zaku, our neighbors, and I would gather with our bicycles. We’d parade around the streets of Jalingo, laughing and exploring. Those bicycle adventures were our ultimate source of joy—no smartphones, no distractions, just pure, unfiltered fun. The "Stadium" Behind Our House Behind our house stood a pile of sand meant for a building project, but for us, it was no ordinary sand - it was our “Stadium.” That sandpile became our playground, our arena for gymnastics, and our stage for endless challenges. We’d run, jump, and flip, each of us trying to outdo the other. I like to think I was pretty good at it too (though my friends might disagree). That “Stadium” was more than just sand; it was a symbol of our creativity and determination to find joy in the simplest things. Leaving Jalingo for Jos: A Tough Chapter After primary school, life took a different turn. I moved to Jos, Plateau State, to attend secondary school. My first year in JS1 was at a school where the principal had a shocking philosophy: “Bullying is allowed.” That year was one of the toughest experiences of my life. It was a wake-up call that life outside Jalingo wasn’t always as kind or simple. But that’s a story for another day. Thankfully, I later transferred to Concord College, where I thrived and eventually graduated. The Journey Continues From there, I pursued a degree in Estate Management  at Joseph Ayo Babalola University  in Osun State. By this time, I had grown into a quiet and reserved person with a passion for business, innovation, and helping people—especially the youth. I’m the third of four siblings, and my family remains a cornerstone of my life. My parents instilled in us the value of hard work and the importance of staying grounded, no matter where life takes us. What Growing Up in Jalingo Taught Me Looking back, my childhood in Jalingo taught me the value of friendship, resilience, and creativity. It showed me how to find joy in simplicity and fueled my ambition to dream big. Today, as I navigate life and business, I carry with me the lessons and experiences of those early years. Whether it’s parading around with friends on bicycles or flipping on a sandpile, those memories remind me of where I come from and inspire me to keep pushing forward. Follow My Journey Here on IbiFoundry I’m passionate about using my story to inspire others, especially the youth of today. Life may not always be easy, but with hard work, creativity, and a sense of community, anything is possible. So, if you’ve enjoyed this little peek into my life, stick around—I have so much more to share. Let’s grow together! Simon Taki Zaku, Founder, CEO, IbiFoundry.com.ng For Ibifoundry.com.ng/blog

  • How to Write an Expert Round-Up Blog Post

This guide will help you craft a winning strategy from the start - coming up with the best ideas for your roundup posts, getting social media influencers to participate, to spreading the word out to as much as possible to attract traffic to your brand website. My name is Simon Zaku, founder and CEO, IbiFoundry.com.ng . Let's get started! Table of Content (click to navigate); STEP 1 : How to pick a topic for your roundup post. STEP 2 : How to find the right influencers for your roundup post. STEP 3 : Reaching Out. The Last Step in Mastering Expert Roundup Blogging How to Create an Expert Round-up Post in 3 Steps Here is my 3-step process: Step 1: Pick a Topic for Your Expert Roundup Post: To hit the jackpot and get thousands of tweets and social media shares on your expert roundup blog post, you need to create something outstanding - something that will leave media influencers jaw-dropped. Approximately 5 years ago, I was sitting on my couch at home during the summer break from school extremely frustrated because I didn't know what to blog about. I went on Google searching for ways to find content ideas to blog about. I stumbled on Sue Anne’s successfulblogging.com  and signed up for her “Your first $1,000 webinar”. I showed up for the webinar but was attracted to JUST ONE (1) THING… EXPERT ROUNDUPS! It immediately lit a bulb in my head and I'm like “Ooh, I'll do this”. I then immediately came up with my first headline (topic), X CEOs REVEAL THEIR NUMBER 1 TACTIC TO MANAGING THEIR TWITTER PROFILES WITHOUT WASTING MUCH TIME, within a few minutes. First Draft Topic: 60 CEOS REVEAL THEIR NUMBER ONE TACTIC TO MANAGING THEIR TWITTER PROFILES WITHOUT WASTING MUCH TIME. Here are things I considered when I came up with this title; - I wanted to help people manage their Twitter profiles - what topic would tie to this? “Twitter management”, "Twitter automation", "and Twitter tools". - I wasn't going to target everyone - I wanted to work with companies, businesses, and brands; targeting “CEOs”, "Managers", "Directors", etc, came up. - I needed to solve a specific problem; “managing Twitter without spending much time” came up. Get the idea now? Think about the products or services you sell. Brainstorm topic ideas directly related to it and are what your target audience will want to consume. In my case, it was "CEOs" and "Managers". Next, think of one unique problem that your product or service solves and pull out a topic around it. Don't worry about your title being Google or SEO friendly, just put some ideas down. With keyword research, I adjusted my title to; TWITTER AUTOMATION: 62 EXPERTS REVEAL THEIR AUTOMATION SECRETS AND TOOLS. The baseline? In my case, I switched my headline from the first to the latter after I got participation from about 10 to 15 influencers. Make use of Keyword tools like Google Keyword Planner to come up with ideas for an optimized title. Expert roundup posts generally climb up quickly on search engines. My first expert round-up ranked on page #2  on Google for the highly competitive keyword, "Twitter automation" within 3 weeks. Why? Influencers who participate are going to share your roundup post and 1000s are going to visit your website. Thus you need to be very careful and make sure you use this opportunity to get the targeted influencers! After getting a few topic ideas for your expert roundup, you can begin finding social media influencers to reach out to for the roundup. Step 2: How to Find the Right Influencers for Your Expert Roundup Post: How to Find Social Media Influencers that’ll Most Likely Participate in Your Expert Roundup? When I started finding influencers interested in participating in my expert roundup blog post AND also connecting with me, I didn’t do any research or plan out a strategy to find the perfect influencers. What I did was I used buzzsumo.com , to pull off every influencer that had certain keywords or had a certain number of following/influence. You may get connected with social media or niche influencers who are not interested in roundups. You might even piss them off with annoying reachouts or emails and follow-ups. Worst of all, it takes a lot of time and energy to do these email reachouts. Here's a simple hack; “Finding Influencers who have already participated in similar weekly roundups or expert roundups” Finding Influencers that have participated in similar roundup posts is the best way to pull off influencers that will most likely say YES to your requests. Why? Because they have already shown interest in roundups. Use Google and run “[your niche] + experts reveal their best secrets“. For example, if I’m to find travel experts to build relationships with for my expert roundup post, I’ll run the following: “travel experts reveal their best secrets”. "top 10 travel experts" "travel expert secrets" Get the idea? Now carefully go through some of these roundups (in your niche) and keep a list of experts that have participated; I use Excel for keeping all things LISTS. STEP 3: Reaching Out Next, let's look at how to find the best ways to reach out to every social media influencer in your reachout list, what your reachout email should contain, and what to do after publishing your roundup. Are you ready? Good! How to Reach Out to Popular Bloggers and Make them Participate in Your Round-Up. When I was starting, I didn't have any strategy for reaching out to influencers. I didn't even have a list so I made a lot of mistakes which caused me a ton of wasted effort and time. I've broken down this entire process into 3 steps: 1) Finding their best contact details. 2) Crafting a reach-out template and then reaching out. 3) Post Publishing. 1. Finding their contact details: When I started, this caused me a ton of wasted hours and energy. I spent much time finding the best email addresses to reach social media influencers. Here's the thing: Influencers hate SPAMMY emails so most times, they keep their email addresses a little private. This makes it hard to find their email addresses but there's a solution… Contact Pages or Contact Forms! They hardly hide their Contact Me pages and that's where you get to reach out without having to spend so much time finding private email addresses, phone numbers, etc. Both messages sent [using their Contact Me pages OR personal email addresses] mostly land in the same inbox. Head over to their websites or blogs and find their Contact Me pages. Most times, it's either at the footer or the menu of their websites. That's how I got social media and blogging moguls like Jeff Bullas, Sam Hurley, Leonard Kim, Noah Kagan, Evan Carmichael, Keith Keller, Ryan Biddulph, Adam Connel, etc, to participate in my expert roundup. 2. Crafting a Reach out Template and then Reach out: After putting together your Excel list of names of experts, their websites, and contact-me page links, it's time to craft a winning reach-out template to use. Do not make the mistake of typing different emails for each influencer. That's a big waste of time. Just craft 1 or 2 email templates and edit them for each influencer. Here are the exact templates I used during my reach outs; __________ Hello, Madalyn. Simon here from simonzaku.com . Best, Simon. ___________ Hello, Rebekah. Simon here. I'm putting together this huge round-up guide of successful & expert entrepreneurs, bloggers, and marketers all over the globe for my website. A little different from the gazillion of expert roundups. Marketing gurus like Sam Hurley & Katherine Sullivan have participated. Mind sharing a few words with us too? A lot of top experts like Sam Hurley, Leonard Kim, Noah Kagan, Evan Carmichael, Keith Keller, Mark Schaefer, Madalyn Sklar, Rebekah Radice, Katherine Sullivan, Samantha Kelly, Ryan Biddulph, Adam Connell and exactly 43 more have participated already. I’m just following up to see if you've gotten the email :) Here’s the question once more: "What's your number 1 secret to growing and managing your Twitter brand w/o wasting much time?" Deadline: 30th of Sept. 2023. Best, Simon (s_zakuu) ________ Follow-up emails are crucial for any cold email reach-out campaign. About 60% of the social media influencers I emailed replied after a follow-up. 3. Post Reach Out: How Do You Promote Your Expert Roundup Post: This is a chapter from my premium ebook but I decided to add it up here for free. Aside from hitting up the experts who participated and telling them it was life, I promoted the content to even more people. After publishing my first blog post which was my expert roundup article, what I did was I started reaching out to people who've shown similar interest. These are people who've shared similar content, commented on similar content, or even engaged with any similar tweeted content. For the sake of this blog article, I'll be showing you how to find and reach out to users who've tweeted or shared similar content to yours. One thing I love about this strategy is that you can use it for other regular articles on your blog too. The goal here is to find and reach out to at least 50 people interested in your type of content. As I said, these are people who have tweeted similar blog content to yours. You find them, pull out their email addresses, and reach out to them. The first thing to do is to find similar articles to your round-up and I recommend using Google searches here because it's the fastest; don't use tools. Head over to Google and search for the keyword(s) your blog article is targeting. If you're targeting “beauty for teenagers”, run the phrase on Google to find content that already ranks for it. So let's say the title of your post is “10 Ways to Make Money Online”, I'll Google “Make Money Online”. Pick the top 5 results and keep them in an Excel file. The next step is to find people who have tweeted out those 5 articles and when starting, I used buzzsumo to pull out these users FOR FREE! Buzzsumo offers a free trial period which I jumped on during that time. (I just confirmed they offer a 7-day free trial). Head over to buzzsumo.com  and sign up for their free trial. After setting up your account, you'll be able to log in to your dashboard using the email and password you used. On your dashboard, navigate to the “Content Analyzer” tab and insert any of the 5 article links above then search. Click on the “Twitter sharers” tab and export the list to Excel (or CSV). Repeat these for all the 5 articles above and you should have a long list of 100-250 people that have tweeted similar content. Reaching out to 250 or even 100 people is a hell of work because you need to find their email addresses and websites. You can find good and super cheap freelancers on fiverr.com  or freelancer.com  for this. But here's the thing; If you're like me, you shouldn't outsource everything (including reaching out) to freelancers. They can find email addresses, websites, and social links... while you handle email. This is so because some freelancers don't have experience with cold email reachouts. To be sure you're not outsourcing this vital task to someone who might jeopardize everything, it's better to do it yourself. Reach out to 10-15 people every day. Reduce this number to 5-7 if you're out of time. The Last Step in Mastering Expert Roundup Blogging Now, here's the plain truth about reaching out to busy social media influencers… The majority of the bloggers you'll reach out to will not participate. Most times, 70-80% of influencers you email will not participate. It won't matter how good your reachout template or email is. It won't matter how enticing your round-up topic is. It also doesn't matter how you try to persuade them to participate OR how many times you follow up. The majority will still not participate! Want to know the simple reason? I wasn't building any genuine relationship with them. During my expert roundup project, the few influencers I had built relationships with, participated without hesitating. Why? Because they knew me… They've already gotten emails from me… Whenever the name, Simon Taki Zaku, pops in their inbox, they already know me. Purchase the Full Book I Wrote: How I Built Relationships with 100 Popular Social Media Influencers in a Year Most times, influencers don't even open any email from any name they don't recognize. How to Perform a Complete Website SEO Audit in 3 Steps How to Prepare an SEO Analysis Report + Free Website SEO Audit Checklist What is an SEO audit or what is a blog SEO audit? An SEO audit is a process of checking and analyzing a website and evaluating opportunities for organic growth by noting possible opportunities, errors, or site SEO improvements to improve the website's organic search rankings and traffic. Typically, an extensive website audit should aim to improve search traffic by a good percentage after implementation.   This whole process of SEO audit involves different SEO tasks typically run by an SEO professional  to identify errors, possible corrections, or opportunities that can help the website gain more visibility on search engines. What is an SEO content audit? A content audit on the other hand is a typical process of an overall SEO Audit process. A content audit or website content audit is the process of evaluating the content of a particular website for recommendations on how to improve content, update content, repurpose content, or optimize content to rank higher for more targeted SEO keywords. Many SEOs focus on the SEO performance, the SERPs, or keyword performances of a website, and forget about the content aspect, which is the pillar for most websites doing well on search engines. Why is a website SEO audit important? The primary purpose of conducting a website SEO analysis is to identify room for organic growth on a particular website. The goal of an SEO audit or a content audit is to find loopholes that will allow organic traffic growth of a particular website. A complete website SEO analysis report allows website owners to analyze the overall performance of a website, content, errors, corrections, or possible opportunities for improvement to attract thousands of organic traffic without PPC or Paid Ads. The purpose of running a Web SEO audit is to find loopholes or errors to improve a website's search performance. This could be technical SEO errors. This could be spelling errors. This could be grammatical errors. This could be design improvements. This could be UX or UI improvement or improvements on a website, These are recommended fixes that a particular website needs to improve the search engine performance of that website. Now, how do you perform a website SEO audit today? How do I perform an SEO audit on a website? The 3 Steps to Performing an Extensive SEO Analysis Report for a Website - the HIDDEN "OOF" HACK There are steps required for an effective SEO or content audit. I made this powerful SEO Audit strategy that works and is easy to remember. I call it the "OOK SEO Audit Strategy". What does an SEO audit cover? Step One: (O) On-Website SEO Analysis  - This involves all the detailed analysis you run for your website. Step Two: (O) Off-Website SEO Audit (Competitor Analysis) - All the detailed SEO tasks to perform on competitor websites to find possible areas to improve your website's SEO. Step Three: (K) Keyword Analysis  - Using the data from the first and second steps which is the (I) website analysis and (II) competitor analysis, we will carry out an extensive keyword analysis to come up with lucrative (and hidden) SEO keyword ideas to target. I reveal this hidden approach to get powerful SEO keywords for any specific website in five minutes or less. So if you're ready, let's get into it. Step 1: (O) - On-Website SEO Audit This is the first step I carry out for each of my SEO clients during our periodic SEO and content Audit processes. What is an On-Website SEO Audit? Just like on-page and off-page SEO. This term, I coined, is the necessary SEO processes carried out on your website (or your SEO client's website) during a thorough SEO Audit or web SEO analysis report. Thus On-Website SEO Audit is the process of evaluating your website (not competitors) for possible SEO or technical errors and/or opportunities for improvement on your website (or client's). This on-website analysis tells you everything you need to know about your website at the time of performing the SEO audit. There are certain key indicators for the On-website SEO Audit process. These are the key SEO indicators that any website owner should evaluate on their website: Site speed, Mobile responsiveness or AMP (accelerated mobile pages). Website backlinks, Current traffic data (Google Analytics). Duplicate content, For each indicator, I will share free tools to help you check. So you can easily go through each and put down what you find in a document. 1. Site Speed Site speed plays a crucial role in search engine optimization. Search engines pay attention to the time visitors wait for your website to load. It plays one of the top roles in search engine rankings today. If a site visitor has to wait a long time before your site loads, then they probably will bounce out of your website. Thus one of the first steps to performing an extensive SEO Audit is to check your site speed. I use a free tool called Google Page Insights  that allows users to check the speed performance of any website. It also recommends improvements to boost your site speed. 2. Mobile Responsive. Search engines also pay attention to the mobile responsiveness of any website. This is because there are lots of search engine users who are using mobile devices. About 96.5% of global internet users  accessed the internet via mobile phones. So if you cannot provide your web pages in a mobile responsive structure, search engines may de-rank your web pages. You can use BrowserStack  to see how responsive your website is. This free tool allows you to test live versions of any website. Depending on your web hosting service provider, you can also allow AMP (accelerated mobile pages) on your website, which is a simplified version of every page or blog post on any website. 3. Backlinks How do you check your backlinks on a website? There are several SEO backlink checker tools (free and paid) but here is an example of how to use the SEMRush tool to see your most popular backlinks. But since most great backlink tools are expensive, you can use a mix of Semrush , Ahrefs , Majestic , and Neil Patel's free SEO backlink checker  to get a good feel of websites linking to you. This will give you an idea of how your website is performing. 4. Domain Authority What is Domain Authority (DA) in SEO Analysis processes? Domain authority tells how well or how trusted your website is to search engines. The higher the domain authority you have, the higher the rankings for your website. To check your website's domain authority you can use the MOZ Domain Authority checker   or DA Checker Tool . Bulk DA PA Checker Tool You can do this for any website to know the level of trust search engines, especially Google have for that website. You can also find out your Spam Score which is also really important. 5. Duplicate Content. There are free tools that allow website owners to check for duplicate content. Duplicate content slows rankings and can hurt your website in the long run. This could be duplicate content on your website or plagiarized content. Either way, search engines frown at duplicate content and every complete SEO audit must include a detailed content audit. Most content creators assume duplicate content can only happen from a third-party website. When you have two or more similar or identical web pages, you can confuse search engines on which to rank. To avoid this, create unique content and target unique keywords for every page. How do you check duplicate content on a website? You can use Plagiarismdetector , A free tool that allows users to check for duplicate content using any URL. 5. Google Analytics Google Analytics breaks down your website traffic, but I'll only list important Google Analytics  data you need during web SEO analysis: the number of visitors you get per month. the number of users you get per month. your traffic sources, devices countries in which most of your traffic comes from. Use the Google search console to find out data about your website's current performance on Google. Google Search Console is a free tool that allows users to process and analyze their Google rankings and search performance. Use your Gmail to log into your search console and connect your website. Here are key indicators to pay attention to in your search console during your extensive SEO Audit report: your website's top-ranking pages your top-performing search keywords indexed and non-indexed pages on your website total web search clicks for your website broken links, 404 errors, and other page errors used devices, search queries, and top countries your website's sitemap These entire steps are included in your website analytics which is the first step in carrying out an extensive SEO analysis report for any website. (Don't forget the OOK SEO Audit Approach stands for 'On-Website', 'Off-Website', and 'Keyword Analysis') (O) SEO Audit Report, Step 2: Competitor Website Analysis (aka OFF-WEBSITE SEO Audit) The second step evaluates what works in your unique industries. You're checking out similar websites (or competitor websites) to understand what works, analyze their backlinks, and top-ranking pages, evaluate organic keywords they currently rank for, and more. (Don't know your competitors? Keep reading, I'll show you a simple way to find similar websites to yours in seconds) This will help you better position your website and SEO strategy. Here is how to check or get an idea of your competitors. SimilarSites is a free tool that lets users find websites similar to any website. Head over SimilarSites  and insert your website URL and search. Another free tool you can use to find great websites similar to yours is Semrush.com . Use the Semrush website analyser tool  and search your website. Here are the key SEO indicators you need to check from your competitors' websites (Off-website SEO Audit Strategy). Domain authority, Top-ranking pages, Most shared pages, Content type and content frequency, Top ranking keywords (for competitors). 1. Competitor Domain Authority When it comes to domain authority, you can use the MOZ free tool  to check the domain authority for your competitors and have a feel of how well they are doing on search engines. 2. Your Competitor's Top Ranking Pages, Most Shared Pages, and Top Keywords. You can use Umbrellum , Ubersuggest , or Ahrefs site explorer tool  to check the top ranking pages, keywords, and Buzzsumo to see their most shared web pages. The next is the type of content that is mostly popular or mostly shared. You do this by checking their top-ranking pages, most shared pages, or most talked about posts on their websites. This leads us to keyword analysis, which is the next step. 3. Competitor Keyword Analysis. For competitor keyword analysis, I use Google Keyword Planner (GKP) with a mix of other free keyword research tools. Tools like Ubersuggest do a great job of showing your competitor's highest-ranking keywords. How do I know what keywords my competitors are ranking for? I use free tools like Thehoth's Google rank checker, and Ahref's free keyword rank checker  to extract all the keywords my competitors rank for. I then create something even better and more engaging for my target audience. Pay attention to these SEO keywords as you will be creating pages and blog content  around these keywords to compete with competitor websites just like yours. This gives you an idea of the keywords you should not waste time on. (K) Website SEO Audit - Final Step 3: "Keyword Analysis" Head to Google Keyword Planner and sign in using your Google Keyword account or Google AdWords account. You don't need to be running PPC ads to have this account. You can have it for free using your Gmail account. Insert the keywords extracted from your competitors (in the previous step) and put in your target countries as seen from your Google Analytics data. Google Keyword Planner will give you a detailed report on related keywords you can use. • Ehmsay to the World: Talent, Story, Grit, and an Unwavering Passion for Music

Ononiwu Moses Nnamei AKA EHMSAY #Ehmsayneers Have you ever met someone whose energy and determination left you in awe? Someone who, despite the odds, keeps pushing, improving, and chasing their dreams with relentless passion? For me, that someone is Ononiwu Moses Nnamdi , also known as Ehmsay . Ehmsay is an exceptional artist, an Igbo talent, and the brains behind the loyal fan base known as the Ehmsayneers . But this post isn’t just about how good he is as an artist - it’s about his incredible drive, which has captivated me for years. Let me take you back over a decade ago to how we met. It was on a bus trip from Abuja to Lagos. I was dropping off at Akure, and Ehmsay happened to sit beside me. From the moment he struck up a conversation, we clicked instantly. I remember telling him, “Wahly, we go make am, Aje. Let’s believe.” We shared our dreams and goals that day. I told him about my online journey, and he played me some of his music on his phone. It stood out to me - raw, unique, and full of potential. We exchanged contacts, and since then, we’ve stayed in touch. Today, Ehmsay is a close friend and a partner to big names like Naira Marley , Zinoleesky , Vusic , and more, often capturing their happy moments together in snaps. What inspires me most about Ehmsay is his relentless work ethic. Every time we talk, he’s always doing something - working on his craft, bettering himself, and pushing boundaries. I’m confident he’ll go global one day. Who knows? A Grammy could be in his future. Recently, I had the pleasure of catching up with him for an interview. Dive in to learn more about his journey, his latest projects, and the mindset that keeps him going. Unveiling Ehmsay: The Story of Talent, Grit, and an Unwavering Drive to Succeed Simon:  Ehmsay, it’s always a pleasure talking to you. Let’s start with your journey. How did music begin for you? Ehmsay:  Thanks, Simon. Music has always been in me. Growing up in an Igbo household, there was always a rhythm to life - whether it was the sound of our traditional drums or highlife music playing during family gatherings. But I think it became serious for me as a teenager. I started writing songs and experimenting with sounds, and it just grew from there. Simon:  I remember the first time you played me your music on that bus. I could tell you had something special. What keeps you going after all these years? Ehmsay:  Man, it’s the dream. I believe that hard work and consistency pay off. I’m always learning, always evolving. Plus, my Ehmsayneers  keep me going. Their love and support remind me why I started this journey in the first place. Simon:  Speaking of your fans, your connection with them is amazing. How did you come up with the name Ehmsayneers ? Ehmsay:  (Laughs) It was organic. One day, a fan said, “We’re your soldiers, your engineers—Ehmsayneers!” It stuck, and now it’s like a family name. Simon:  Let’s talk about your latest single, “Casamigos.”  What inspired it, and how’s the reception so far? Ehmsay:   Casamigos  is a vibe! It’s inspired by good times with friends, just chilling and enjoying life. The reception has been amazing so far—streams are growing, and the feedback has been really positive. Simon:  And I hear there’s an EP in the works? Ehmsay:  Yes! I’m working on my first EP, and it’s dropping this year, 2025. It’s a mix of everything - Afrobeats, trap, highlife, even some reggae vibes. I want it to reflect my versatility as an artist. Simon:  You’ve been working closely with Naira Marley, who’s an industry giant. What’s that experience been like? Ehmsay:  Naira is like a big brother. He’s real, and he’s always dropping gems - things I can apply to my music and life. Being around him is inspiring, and it pushes me to work harder. Simon:  What’s your ultimate goal in music? Ehmsay:  Global domination, Simon. I want to take my music to every corner of the world. I want people to feel the Igbo culture in my sound and connect with it. And yeah, a Grammy wouldn’t hurt (laughs). Simon:  Lastly, what message do you have for your fans and anyone chasing their dreams? Ehmsay:  To my Ehmsayneers , thank you for believing in me. To anyone chasing a dream, just keep going. The journey might be tough, but the rewards are worth it. Final Thoughts Ehmsay’s story is one of persistence, passion, and an unshakable belief in his talent. It’s rare to find someone so committed to their craft, and I believe the world hasn’t seen the best of him yet. To Naira Marley , I see you as a mentor to Ehmsay, and I’d love to see your partnership grow. Maybe it’s time to officially sign him? And to other record labels looking for an artist with grit, Ehmsay is your guy. Ehmsay’s latest single, Casamigos , is available on all streaming platforms. • Why I Don’t Like Chipper Cash Anymore: My Honest Thoughts

Have you ever fallen in love with a service, only to feel like it betrayed you later on? That’s exactly how I feel about Chipper Cash. Let me tell you why. Hi, I’m Simon Zaku, and I’m passionate about sharing honest reviews and personal stories that can help you make better choices - whether it’s for business, finances, or life in general. Today, I’m diving into my experience with Chipper Cash and why I’ve chosen to move on to a better alternative. To Begin with, what is Chipper Cash? What Is Chipper Cash? Chipper Cash  is a financial technology platform that provides mobile-based services for seamless money transfers, virtual cards, and payment solutions. Founded in 2018, the app initially gained popularity as a free and easy way to send and receive money across Africa. It later expanded its offerings to include international transfers, virtual dollar cards, and cryptocurrency transactions. The platform is available in multiple countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, and the United States, making it a versatile solution for personal and business transactions. What Attracted Me to Try Chipper Cash Free Transfers (Initially): Chipper Cash was known for enabling free peer-to-peer money transfers, especially within African countries. Virtual Cards: Users can create virtual dollar and naira debit cards for online purchases and subscriptions like Netflix and Amazon. Cross-Border Payments: The app supports international transfers to and from African countries and the US, with the promise of fast transaction speeds. Cryptocurrency Transactions: Chipper Cash allows users to buy, sell, and transfer cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. The Honeymoon Phase: Why I Loved Chipper Cash I still remember when I first discovered Chipper Cash. Funny enough, I was the one who referred my friends to the app. Back then, Chipper Cash was the dream. Here’s what hooked me: Free Transfers:  I could send money without worrying about charges. Free Dollar Card:  Creating a virtual dollar card for international transactions was seamless and completely free—no hidden fees, no creation costs. Ease of Use:  All I needed to do was upload my correct credentials, and I was good to go. For a while, it was pure bliss. I used the app for free transfers and dollar card transactions, and everything worked smoothly. The Decline: Where Things Went Wrong But, as they say, nothing good lasts forever. Slowly but surely, Chipper Cash began introducing charges. First, they added a fee to obtain a naira card. Then came charges for the dollar cards. Eventually, even their conversion rates skyrocketed. And honestly, that was the dealbreaker for me. Here’s why: High Fees:  Their charges became way too high, especially compared to the CBN dollar rate. Poor Conversion Rates:  When I compared their rates to other platforms, I realized I was paying a lot more. I even did a side-by-side comparison with Binance, and guess what? Binance was cheaper and far more reliable. At that point, I couldn’t justify sticking with Chipper Cash anymore. My Go-To Alternative: GeegPay App When I stopped using Chipper Cash, I discovered GeegPay - and I haven’t looked back since. Here’s what I love about GeegPay: Affordable Fees:  Their charges are reasonable, and their conversion rates are far better than Chipper Cash. Reliable Services:  Creating a virtual card is simple, and I’ve never faced any issues. Great Customer Support:  Their team is responsive, and their email newsletters are super helpful. GeegPay has been my go-to for a while now, and I honestly can’t recommend them enough. Cons of Using Chipper Cash App High Fees: Although initially free, Chipper Cash now charges fees for many of its services, such as obtaining cards and some transactions. Poor Conversion Rates: The app’s dollar-to-naira and naira-to-dollar exchange rates are often higher than those of competitors, making it expensive for currency exchanges. Limited Customer Support: S ome users have reported delays or unresponsiveness from the customer service team. Unpredictable Changes: Over time, Chipper Cash has introduced several fees and policy changes that have frustrated loyal users. Crypto Fees: While offering cryptocurrency services is a plus, the associated fees can sometimes be high compared to other platforms. Final Thoughts Chipper Cash started as a free, convenient app, and for a time, it lived up to the hype. But with the high fees and poor conversion rates, it’s no longer the right fit for me. Thankfully, platforms like GeekPay exist, and they’ve proven to be a much better alternative. If you’ve had a similar experience or want to try out GeegPay, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
