Jerry : In ten years, I see the Elite Party becoming a household name across Nigeria. Q: What are the biggest challenges you’ve faced so far? Jerry : Honestly, one of the biggest challenges is getting to kick start the campaign. There are so many youths who are going the opposite direction of their destinies, we want to as soon as possible begin the campaign of showing them the roadmap that leads to a fulfilling lifestyle. Another challenge is funding—running a youth minded organization and implementing projects require resources, and we’re working hard to secure sustainable support. Q: What advice would you give to young Nigerians who want to join politics? Jerry : My advice is simple: start small, but start now. You don’t need to be in the House of Representatives or a governor to make an impact. Engage with your local community, speak out about issues, and educate yourself about Nigeria’s political system. Elder-Statesman Fred Taki Zaku of Taraba State Elder Fred Taki Zaku: A Lifetime of Service and Dedication Born on March 12 , in Dampar , my very own vibrant village in Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State, Nigeria, Elder Fred Taki Zaku began his life of service early. Mr Taki is an alumnus of L.E.A. Primary School, Dampar , where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC)  in 1975. From there, his academic journey led him to Marmara Government Secondary School, Wukari , where he earned his GCE  in 1981. He later attended the College of Preliminary Studies, Yola , obtaining his IJMB  in 1983, before completing a B.Sc . in Sociology  from the University of Jos  in 1987. Quite determined right? Mr Fred Zaku's incredible Journey and career had just begun. A Storied Career - Mr Fred Taki Zaku Fred Taki Zaku’s professional journey began on April 21, 1989 , and spanned several decades, marked by unwavering commitment and excellence. He served in various capacities, including: Chief Admin Officer  at the SSG’s Office, Jalingo, Taraba state. Assistant Director of Admin/Secretary  at Taraba State Action Committee on AIDS (SACA). Director of Administration  at the Ministry of Education, Taraba state . Permanent Secretary , Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (2019–2022). Retired (2022) Appointment as a Board Member of the Taraba State Planning Commission by His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas . Through these roles, he demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, and a passion for service that earned him commendations and accolades, including recognition as the Best Behaved Corps Member  during his National Youth Service Corps year. She started her career as an Administrative Officer in the early 2000s, dedicating herself to the service of Taraba State’s educational sector. You know, Nigeria is just one kind amazing place. We have so many people with raw, crazy, mind-blowing talents that the rest of the world would never believe. Let me give you one example. The other day, I was watching a video on YouTube—Jimmy Kimmel Live. He had one celebrity guest, and she did something that made everybody in the studio start clapping and shouting. You know what she did? She opened a bottle of Coke with her teeth . Yes, just like that. And everyone there was acting like she just discovered electricity. I couldn’t help but laugh. Do you know why? Because here in Nigeria, even a 10-year-old pikin can do that on a random Tuesday afternoon. In fact, if you go to any roadside suya spot in Jalingo, the guys there are opening Coke bottles with their teeth like it’s nothing. No big deal. That’s when it hit me—there’s so much talent  in this country, especially in places like Taraba, but most of it is hidden. Nobody sees it. Nobody celebrates it. Happy New Year, everyone! Today, 1st January 2025, I had an amazing time with my friends and the IBIFoundry family at a chill spot in Jallingo, Taraba. The vibe was unmatched—filled with laughter, deep conversations, and plenty of gist  to go around. Let me introduce you to my crew: Collins, Love, Samuel, Robert, Soctsi , and Kifasi (aka Skidoo). These are not just friends—they’re dreamers, doers, and people who inspire me every day. But amidst the fun and great company, one lesson stood out for me today: execution is everything. The Power of Taking Action While we were talking, Love shared a brilliant idea with me: “Simon, you should add music to your website!” Now, if this was me years ago, I might have nodded, said, “Good idea,”  and forgotten about it. But today? I didn’t just think about it—I executed it. Right there, I worked on embedding music into my website. Done and dusted. Love was impressed, and I explained to her why: knowledge alone is not enough.  You can know everything  about what to do, but until you act on it, it’s useless. Execution is the real key to progress. Soctsi Kifasi: A Doer in Action Another example that stood out today was Soctsi, aka Kifasi, one of our IBIFoundry team members. A while back, I spoke to him about starting his blog. Guess what? Soctsi didn’t just listen—he executed. As of today, he already has 9 posts  on his blog, and he’s digging deeper into it with every passing day. That’s the kind of energy I admire. Because here’s the truth: you don’t need to know everything to start. You just need to start.   Execution breeds momentum, and momentum breeds success. Why Execution Matters It’s easy to get stuck in the “planning”  stage. You read, research, and gather all the knowledge you can. But without execution, all that knowledge is just wasted potential. Taking action—even imperfect action—is what gets you results. It’s what separates the dreamers from the doers. 2025: Our Year of Doing So as we step into this new year, I challenge you to embrace execution. Don’t just learn—apply. Don’t just dream—do.
